On November 11, Phillips’ much awaited Geneva Jewels auction is predicted to bring in between $4.8 million and $5.5 million for a stunning 17.97 carat Burmese ruby.
A ruby close to 20 carats is extremely unusual because those over 10 carats are thought of as genuine abnormalities in nature. This particular ruby, which is encased in a diamond ring (shown above), also has remarkable deep saturation, vivid unheated color, and clarity.

An internally perfect class IIb 3.24 carat fancy bright blue diamond ring is another highly coveted gem in the sale; it is expected to bring between $4.8 and $6 million.

This month, Phillips is traveling the world displaying sale highlights and will stop in London, Paris, Singapore, and New York. The preview of the online catalog will start on November 6 at Geneva’s Hotel President, the location of the auction. The online catalog will go live on October 21.
