A Magnificent Unmounted Diamond may hit $5 Million at Sotheby’s Auction

A 53.04-carat D-color, internally perfect diamond is expected to fetch up to $5 million at the June 7 Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels sale in New York.

This diamond, estimated to be worth between $3 million and $5 million, will be one of the first lots sold under Sotheby’s new pricing structure, which deducts buyer premiums by 26% and was unveiled on May 20.

According to GIA report dated November 21, 2023

The diamond is D color, Internally Flawless. Together with a letter from the GIA stating that the diamond has been determined to be Type IIa.
